They have brown cotton laces and there are five pairs of plain punched eyelet holes.\n\nThey are partially lined with leather and white canvas. The insoles are of leather.\n\nThe Utility mark is impressed on each instep of the sole and inside, beside each symbol there inscribed a number. \n\nEach shoe has a protective rubber on the sole which is the wrong shape for the shoe. The trees appear to be roughly cut down boot trees and each one is in four sections. They have caused some wear to the inside of the shoes.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""},{"name":{"text":"Unknown","id":"C168"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Utility","id":"A2828"},"association":{"text":"designed for","id":"x41471"},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"leather","id":"AAT11845"},{"text":"canvas","id":"AAT14078"},{"text":"cotton (textile)","id":"AAT14067"}],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"Leather, lined with canvas and cotton laces","categories":[{"text":"Footwear","id":"THES48951"},{"text":"Fashion","id":"THES48957"},{"text":"Clothing","id":"THES48975"},{"text":"Men's clothes","id":"THES49043"},{"text":"Europeana Fashion Project","id":"THES265804"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"T&F","id":"THES48601"},"images":["2014HE7761","2014HE7767","2006AW1019"],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"004","id":"THES325896"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""},{"current":{"text":"004","id":"THES325896"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Shoe","id":""}],[{"text":"Shoe","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""},{"apprise":"","note":""},{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Oxford","id":"x31203"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1945-1950","earliest":"1945-01-01","latest":"1950-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Mr and Mrs G.
