J. Mariette (Lugt 1852); Count Moritz von Fries (Lugt 2903); Dyce Bequest 1869 \r\n\r\nLITERATURE <i>Dyce Catalogue</i> no. 158 (as by Baccio Bandinelli)\n\nSince neither Baccio’s father nor either of his sons was named Baccio, it is not clear who is meant by Baccio Bandinelli Filius. Presumably Baccio himself, who was the son of a well known goldsmith Michelangelo. It would be odd to refer to Clemente or the younger Michelangelo, Baccio’s two sons, in this oblique way.
