The head, neck and shoulders correspond fairly closely with the picture. But the woman’s arms in the picture are crossed on her breast, whereas in the drawing they appear to holding something away from the body. The position of the legs is different also, the left leg in the painting being advanced across the right one, so that the lower part of the woman’s body is twisted round to her right, instead of being shown frontally. This improves the pose, and may show a change of mind on the artist’s part. \r\n"}],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[{"text":"man","id":"x35641"},{"text":"nude","id":"AAT189568"}],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["DYCE.247"],"accessionNumberNum":"247","accessionNumberPrefix":"DYCE","accessionYear":null,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-16","recordCreationDate":"2009-09-14","availableToBook":false}}
