The latter was styled Earl of Yarmouth from 1822-42 and became the 4th Marquess of Hertford. With his illegitimate son, Sir Richard Wallace, Bt., he collected works of art now known as the Wallace Collection. Dr. Robert Chermside (1787-1860, knighted in 1831) was physician to the British embassy, Paris.
