Simply printed, these toys were made for children in the late twentieth century.\r\nBy the 1980s, Punch and Judy was represented as being slightly old-fashioned, though charming. The label on the back of the box promotes the traditional appeal of the Punch and Judy show, including it with \"sandcastles and donkey rides\" as an essential part of the British summer.","physicalDescription":"Rectangular cardboard box printed to look like a striped Punch and Judy tent. There is an opening at the front through which the finger puppets can be seen. The puppets themselves are made of two pieces of printed cotton, sewn around the seams but leaving the bottom open. The front side of the puppet is slightly stuffed. One of the puppets is printed as Mr Punch wearing a red, down costume with yellow edging and carrying a stick. The other puppet is Judy wearing a ace cap, blue and white checkered dress and carrying a baby. The back of the puppets is also printed.
