Mounted behind the mast is a rectangle of  darker wood. In front of the mast is mounted a straight spur of wood protruding over the edge of the boat to which is attached the rigging. The front sail is on a small length of wood at the bottom with rigging to the spur and to the mast. The main sail has a long length of wood at the bottom and a shorter piece at the top; it is attached to the mast with loops and rigging. The long piece of wood of the main sail has strings beneath connected to a hook which hooks over a metal bridge at the rear of the boat. The rear bottom corner of the large sail has been torn away from its threads holding to the wooden length. Under the bridge bar is a metal plate which gives the name Gamages.
