In the centre is housed the steam generator which operates a piston and flywheel which in turn operate the propeller. All appear to be in good working order and when the flywheel is turned the piston moves, as does the propeller. The back of the launch is covered with a sheet of varnished wood decorated with black lines. Through this protrudes the metal arms for the rudder. This sheet is not attached to the boat itself but is not removeable as the arm passes tightly through it. Beneath the end of the arm is a metal plate to protect the wood. There is a domed triangular cover for the front of the launch, of metal coated with varnish for waterproofing. Stored inside a large wooden box with the name PEGGY stencilled in black.
