Always working together, the twins illustrated over hundred books, including fairytales by Hans Christian Andersen, the Brothers Grimm, J. M. Barrie and Charles Kingsley, and various myths, legends, nursery rhymes and prayers. Janet specialised in drawing animals and birds; Anne worked on human figures and buildings.
