The front half is covered by a screw-on black plastic lid with a slot and a bent metal pin which supports the box when in use. The film strips pass behind the magnifying glass and are covered by a black plastic panel with two holes, through which pass the wooden posts. The lid of the projector-viewer is red plastic with an opaque screen. This lid is hinged at one end.
