The front and back sides are hinged at the bottom edge to the base which is plain and bears the mark on the inside. 12 cards accompany the viewer, each having a double photograph of the same subject and title line. The subjecy of the cards are portraits of the Royal family, under the rule of King George V. The Camerscope was patented (Patent Number 173840) by Cavenders Ltd to be used for the cards that came inside their cigarette packs.
