She is known for her stencil graffiti, often depicting fierce, beautiful women, with slogans or wordplays. She has been making street art since the early 1980s. Although she now sells her works as prints, and exhibits in commercial galleries, she continues to work in the urban environment at night. This particular image can also be seen sprayed onto dilapidated walls in Paris. \r\n\r\nThis print shows a female figure, although conventionally attractive in a revealing dress she is gazing directly at the viewer, refusing to be objectified. The slogan next to her can be translated as ‘we are all in an irregular situation’. Miss Tic’s feminine characters, based on herself, and her sometimes confessional phrases, make her an interesting exception in the male-dominated street art genre. Miss Tic’s work, although often very personal, also touches on feminist and political themes.","physicalDescription":"A print showing a female figure in black and white with text in red and black.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Miss Tic","id":"A14478"},"association":{"text":"artist","id":"AAT25103"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"Stencil print on paper","categories":[{"text":"Prints","id":"THES48903"},{"text":"Feminism","id":"THES48955"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":["2006BJ8378"],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"LVLE","id":"THES49657"},"free":"","case":"SA","shelf":"8","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"print","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"France","id":"x28849"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"2004","earliest":"2004-01-01","latest":"2004-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Purchased through the Julie and Robert Breckman Print Fund","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"40","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"60","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"NOUS SOMMES TOUS EN SiTUATiON iRRÉGULiÈRE / MiSS-Tic","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"We are all in an irregular situation","transliteration":"","type":"","note":"Lettering part of image to left of figure"},{"content":"1/10 M.T","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"","note":"In pencil below image edition details to left, artist monogram to right"}],"objectHistory":"Displayed in the Link Corridor in Aug-Oct 2005 in the 'Street Art' display.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"'Nous sommes tous en situation irrégulière' stencil print by Miss Tic; French, 2004.","bibliographicReferences":[],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[{"text":"graffiti","id":"AAT15613"}],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["E.275-2005"],"accessionNumberNum":"275","accessionNumberPrefix":"E","accessionYear":2005,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"1/10","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":["2010EF2923"],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-08","recordCreationDate":"2005-04-28","availableToBook":false}}
