Following the fashion of the day the costumes for the Princesses in 1926 were shorter than those designed by Golovin in 1910. They also have a bolder design with the gold on white.\r\nAfter the Firebird flies away having given Ivan the talisman feather he sees thirteen princesses, imprisoned by Kostchei enter the garden to play with the golden apples. Their leader, who wears a more distinctive costume, alerts Ivan to the dangers and they perform a circling folk dance, a Khorovod, in soft shoes to folk-inspired music. At the end of the ballet after the spell has been broken they partner off with the once ossified knights.\r\n","physicalDescription":"Calf-length white kaftan-style sleeved dress evoking Russian traditional dress. The front panel and a wide hem is decorated with irregular painted gold shapes, suggestive of foliage, outlined with god cord.
