More rarely, bowls and plates, such as this one, have been 'double-moulded' by pressing sheets of clay between concave and convex moulds.\r\n\r\nThis plate was designed by the architect and writer A.W.N.Pugin, who was a leading figure in the Gothic Revival. This plate, with its trefoil and quatrefoil ornament, is in the Gothic style.
