The original signatories are Ellen Terry, who was Mabel Terry-Lewis's aunt, Henry Irving, Herbert Beerbohm Tree, Réjane and Coquelin. The fan passed to Terry-Lewis's nephew John Gielgud. In June 1956 he signed it himself, along with Peggy Ashcroft, Edith Evans, Sybil Thorndike, Lewis Casson and Gwen Ffrangcon-Davies.
