Gilbert's <i>Robert Le Diable</i>, subtitled <i>The Nun, the Dun, and the Son of a Gun</i> is a parody of Meyerbeer's opera <i>Robert Le Diable</i>, using lyrics by Gilbert set to the music of Meyerbeer, Offenbach and other composers of the time.
