In 1837 he patented a technique for enamelling glass and retiered from Sèvres to set up a workshop nearby, to decorate both vessel glass and windows. In 1837 he patented a technique lead glass with enamel and, after retiring from the porcelain factory, set up a workshop nearby for decorating vessel glass and windows. The same year he became the official decorator for Launay, Hautin et Cie, the agents for the Bercy, Choisy, Baccarat and St. Louis glass works.
