Ashbee moved there in 1902. It was owned by Arthur and Georgie Gaskin, a successful husband and wife team of Arts and Crafts jewellers based in Birmingham. The Gaskins were known for their delicate, hand-made silver jewellery in the form of flowers and leaves sprinkled with gemstones. The design of this necklace shares some of these characteristics.
