The publication contains illustrations of animals, alongside brief descriptions of their appearance, habits and habitats, accompanied by a number of illustrative vignettes, used mainly as tailpieces.","historicalContext":"The Aurochs or Urus was the ancestor of domestic cattle. It was a type of large wild cattle which inhabited Europe, Asia and North Africa and became extinct in the 17th century.
