Based on Hans Christian Anderson's story 'The Ice Maiden', the leading roles were danced by Konstanze Vernon, Heinz Bosl, and Gislinde Skrobin.  The ballet was also performed by London Festival Ballet, when it was performed at the London Coliseum in May 1974 under the English title 'The Fairy's Kiss'.
