She and my mother talked me into softening the period style and using the idea of a crinoline to make it more bridal'. The design was inspired by a costume for Anne Boleyn in the film 'Anne of the Thousand Days' (1969).\r\n\r\nNettie Spiegel came from Berlin on the Kindertransport, and at the age of 16 found employment at a fashion campany in Great Portland Street, London. She then went on to create her own couture house called Neymar. She designed magnificent wedding dresses, costumes for the stage and celebrities came to her from all over the world. \r\n\r\nOn 23rd November 2013, Lord Sacks inaugurated the Bridal Room in the name of the late Nettie Spiegel at Western Marble Arch Synagogue, 32 Great Cumberland Street, London W1H 7TN. \r\n\r\n","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Wedding dress, organza embroidered with beads and applied flowers.
