The head is moulded to represent a baby, with a chubby face, a roll of fat at the back of the neck and dimples in the upper back; by contrast the wax arms and legs and the waisted cloth body are the standard types used for wax dolls at this date. The head has short fine blonde mohair hair inserted in the scalp, painted light brown eyebrows, stationary blue glass eyes, inserted black eyelashes, a closed mouth painted red and a red dot painted in each of the moulded nostrils. The body is seamed at the sides and the centre back, and the legs across the middle of the thighs.","artistMakerPerson":[],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Pierotti","id":"A7389"},"association":{"text":"doll maker","id":"AAT25399"},"note":"probably"}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"wax","id":"AAT14585"},{"text":"calico","id":"AAT132872"}],"techniques":[{"text":"moulding","id":"AAT53134"},{"text":"stitching","id":"AAT53660"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Poured wax head and outer limbs on stuffed calico body","categories":[{"text":"Dolls","id":"THES274380"},{"text":"Children & Childhood","id":"THES48980"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"YVA","id":"THES48593"},"images":[],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"006","id":"THES343665"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Doll","id":""}],[{"text":"character doll","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"England","id":"x28826"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"ca. 1860-70","earliest":"1855-01-01","latest":"1870-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"60.4","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"Called Augustus Haslewood by his original owner, Florence Mabel Haslewood (baptised 09/02/1860, died 1897).
