The Virgin with hands folded in prayer kneels to adore the naked Child who lies in the right with halo and aureole. Joseph kneels behind him, holding a staff in his left hand with his right to his face. In the background a wooden stable with a thatched roof. The heads of the ox and ass appear on the extreme left. The relief is concave, square at the bottom but pointed at the top.
