It was based on a cast taken of the bust of Ficino by Andrea Ferruci on his monument in the Cathedral of Florence. Bastianini made several alterations to the model to Freppa's specifications, and the bust at first passed for a work by the 15th century sculptor Desiderio da Settignano. It was exposed as a forgery by Bastianini in 1867.","physicalDescription":"Terracotta bust of Marsilio Ficino.
