The dish is one of a limited edition of 5. A smaller version was produced in an edition of 500.\r\n\r\nWedgwood provided the following information regarding the objects manufacture: \"The shell is fired to a biscuit temperature of 1230°C with a four hour soak - each shell supported by a specially designed clay former to hold shape. It is hand dipped in a low solubility glaze and is then further fired to a glost temperature of 1045°C. Only one mould was made from the model* (*made at Barlaston).
