She was a successful model, artist's muse and a celebrated photographer in her own right, studying under the surrealist artist and photographer Man Ray. Miller posed many times for Hoyningen-Huene, the chief of photography at French Vogue. In this image she wears the 'Frôleuse' dress by French designer Jean Patou. \n\nGelatin silver print\nMuseum no.
