He worked as an illustrator, designer and sculptor. His poster designs in particular were influenced by the geometric graphic styles of Tom Eckersley and Abram Games.\r\nThis poster is part of a series which Angrave designed for London Transport. The city continued to provide public transportation throughout the war, though this was made especially difficult during blackouts, when drivers could not use vehicle headlights. The blackout was designed to make it difficult for German bombers to find their targets in the dark. The campaign stressed passenger and pedestrian safety at these times, providing safety measures through a series of light-hearted, memorable rhymes.","physicalDescription":"Pink bus with cartoon-like eyes and bus driver within both started by yellow torch light.
