The film resulted in a lot of spin off merchandising and many thought that the character Woody, a cowboy doll and hero of the film, would be the toy most in demand. However, Buzz proved far more popular. In 1996, supply could not meet Christmas demand, and it was voted most elusive Toy of the Year.","physicalDescription":"Plastic battery operated character toy, Buzz Lightyear from the Disney's film Toy Story, with printed card box.\r\n\r\nThe figure represents a strong-jawed white male astronaut wearing a technilogically advanced spacesuit coloured pale grey, lime green and purple.. The head is moulded and coloured to appear to be wearing a purple flying cap. The clear bubble helmet is retractabale, and on the figure's chest are four buttons which trigger electronic features and noises. On the toy's right arm is a red button which, when pressed, activates a red light at the wrist which represents a laser beam. On the figure's back are a pair of retractable wings. The figure has points of articulation at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers, hips knees and ankles.\n\nThe box is of colour-printed card with a transparent plastic window on the front.
