He became business director in 1923.\n\nThese two pieces, teapot (C.90:1,2-1994) and sugar bowl (C.1:1,2-1995), were bought from Galerie Ulrich Fiedler, Cologne. They had been acquired by Fiedler from an auction at Ketterer Kunst, Munich. Both items had formerly been in the personal possession of Theodor Bogler. According to the auction house, Bogler died as a monk in Maria Laach Abbey, leaving various ceramics, drawings, prints, etc. to the son of a very close friend, a painter, who had been using the pieces unconcernedly since he had acquired them, unaware of their historical importance or value.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Combination teapot, hand thrown, cut and assembled ceramic, designed by Theodor Bogler for Dornburger Töpfer Werkstatt/ Bauhaus Pottery Workshop, Germany, 1923.","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Christopher Wilk (ed.). Modernism 1914-1939: designing a new world.
