Lott set up his plant in Watford, England in 1918 making building blocks for children. The populartity of these blocks eventually exceed that of the more established artificial stone Richter's blocks, as anti-German feelings turned people away from German products during World War One. Lott's success was assured when Queen Mary bought a set from him at the British Industries Fair in 1918.\n\nThe company produced a number of sets each with its own series such as 'Modern', 'Lodomo' and 'Tudor'. These were the last of the old fashioned composition blocks which were to be superseded by very different styles exemplified by Minibrix, Bayko and Lego. Lotts Brick's Limited ceased to exist in the 1960s.","physicalDescription":"Construction set of 183 black and white building blocks made from artifical stone.
