Richardson Sr (Lugt 2184) and Jr (Lugt 2170); Dyce Bequest 1869 \r\nLITERATURE Dyce Catalogue no. 212 (as 'anonymous, ascribed to Cortona'); Briganti, pp. 266 and 306; W. Vitzthum in a review \r\nof Briganti in Master Drawings, I, 1963, p. 50 \r\nThe drawing corresponds closely with the painting in the Accademia in Venice, formerly in the Venetian church of S. Daniele. This exact resemblance suggests a copy. But the handling is very close to Cortona and the drawing may well be a modello for the picture, as Briganti states.
