The fishing town of Brixham, with its colourful fishing port and distinctive wooden boats with red sails, provided abundant inspiration. These two prints are from a set of eight that reveal the creative process behind Kirkpatrick’s woodcut technique. To make her prints, she built up images without outlines using coloured shapes.
