He entered the service of Philip II c. 1553-4 and may have been a member of the first embassy sent with gifts to Mary Tudor in December 1553. He was in the low countries from 1555 to 1559 going to Spain with the king. In the Netherlands he made a group of medals of Philip and Mary in silver, bronze and lead probably designed as a pair with A271-1910","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Bronze medal, obv, a bust of Philip II of Spain; rev, the chariot of the sun, by Jacopo Da Trezzo, Italy, ca. 1555","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Armand, A: Les Médailliers Italiens, Paris, 1883, I, p. 241, No. 2"},{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Forrer, L: Biographical Dictionary of Medallists, London, 1902-30, VI, pp. 132-139"},{"reference":{"text":"Fullea, Fernando, Felipe II: un monarca y su época, un príncipe del renacimiento, Madrid: Sociedad Estatal para la Conmemoracion de los centenarios de Felipe II y Carlos V, 1998.","id":"AUTH348023"},"details":"","free":""},{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Inventory of Art Objects Acquired in the Year 1860. In: Inventory of the Objects in the Art Division of the Museum at South Kensington, Arranged According to the Dates of their Acquisition.
