The Director, Dr. Alan Borg, chose, on the recommendation of the Metalwork Department, Chris Knight (b.1964) as an artist capable of providing a contemporary design and a standard of finish that would be suitably monumental.  Chris Knight, who was already represented in major collections, designs and produces silverware to be used. He regards functional requirements as creative guidelines, not restrictions. From time to time, these candelabra are used when the Director entertains formally.","physicalDescription":"Sheet with rendered concept sketch and side elevation for a pair of three light candelabra. The base supports a rising branch in the form of an arc to which is attached a stacked tier of ellipsoid sections at the apex.
