These are comprised of the following titles, written by A. A. Milne, published by Methuen and illustrated by the artist.\n<i>When We Were Very Young\nWinnie-the-Pooh\nNow We are Six\nThe House at Pooh Corner</i>\nThey were initially lent by the artist to the museum for the travelling exhibition 'Winnie-the-Pooh' in 1969-70 and were afterwards given to the museum by Mrs Norah Shepard on behalf of her husband.  Also included in the gift were 25 proofs of illustrations, 9 letters and 4 manuscripts by the artist, A. A. Milne, and others.  At the same time Mrs Shepard gave a further 9 sheets of illustrations to works by A. A. Piglet’s look of ‘mild surprise’ became anxiety in Milne’s stories and Eeyore, by this time five years old and with a worn-out neck, literally looked downcast. Shepard drew the toys meticulously.
