Circignani’\r\nPen and brown ink and blue wash\r\n7 x 7 (177 x 177)\t\t\t\t\t6756\nPROVENANCE C. Jourdeuil (sale, Sotheby, 12-13 June 1868, bought by Obach for the Museum)\r\n\r\nThe attribution to Antonio Circignani recorded in the inscription has been kept till lately, but the drawing seems to have no connection with either Antonio or Niccolo Circignani, or yet with Cristoforo Roncalli, also known as Ponarancio.
