The ground is sunk about a quarter of an inch. The centres are kept polished.' Each panel is labelled, from left to right, 'On S.E. face of N.E. pier,' 'on S.W. face of N.E. pier,' 'on N.E. face of S.E. pier,' and on S.E. face of S.E. pier.' The panels on the right are characterised by their dolphin and trident iconography, where the panels on the left use simple scrollwork.
